Starting counselling

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you are anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure what to expect. At AK Wellbeing, I aim to make the process feel clear, calm and supportive from the first enquiry. You do not need to have everything worked out before getting in touch.

Send a confidential enquiry

1. Make first contact

You can  contact me via WhatsApp or email with a brief message. You do not need to explain everything to me straight away.

You might simply say "Hi Anita, I'm interested in online counselling and would like to know more."

2. Arrange a free 15-minute introductory call

I offer a free 15-minute introductory call so you can ask any initial questions and get a sense of whether online counselling feels right for you. There is no pressure to decide immediately.

3. Talk through what you need

During the introductory call, I can explain how counselling works, fees, availability, confidentiality and what the first session involves.

If you are using AXA Health, Aviva, or Vitality, sessions can begin once insurer authorisation is in place.

4. Begin online counselling

If we both feel it is appropriate to continue, we can agree regular online counselling sessions.

Sessions take place online via Microsoft Teams or by telephone, offering a confidential space to explore what you are experiencing at a pace that feels manageable.

Important note

AK Wellbeing offers online counselling only. WhatsApp and email are for enquires and appointment arrangements only, not crisis support or counselling between sessions.

If you feel at immediate risk, call 999 or go to A&E. For urgent mental health support, contact NHS 111. You can also call Samaritans free on 116 123.
