Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach me at anita@akwellbeing.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

In counselling, clients can expect to find a confidential and supportive sanctuary where their thoughts and feelings are genuinely heard and understood.

Through this empathic journey, they'll embark on a path of personal growth, gaining greater self-awareness and invaluable coping strategies. Counselling often brings emotional relief, fostering healthier relationships and clarity on life's direction. Clients will acquire practical tools and skills to navigate challenges, resulting in enhanced resilience and positive changes in their overall well-being.

Ultimately, counselling is a collaborative process aimed at helping individuals achieve their unique goals and find lasting solutions to life's complexities.

It can feel nerve-wracking reaching into the unknown, but let me explain how it works.

Once you have contacted me via email or text, I will contact you if it is safe for me to do so or, if you prefer I can email, please state your preference in your message. I may not respond immediately, as I may be in session, but I will respond to you the same day. Once our correspondence begins, I will invite you to a free 15-minute consultation, offering you the time to ask me any questions that you may have regarding counselling and whether you would like to move forward in your journey with me.

We will then schedule a 1-hour assessment, followed by setting 50-minute sessions, which will be held every week at the same time and day.

Counselling sessions are confidential, and this will be discussed in our initial assessment, as there are some exceptions that may apply if there are risks of harm or legal obligations

Everybody's journey is at a different pace. We will work together towards your goals with regular reviews throughout the process.

I have some availability for new clients. Once you contact me, we can explore a day and time suits you.

At the moment I offer telephone and online counselling. Face to face counselling is not an option at present but will be at some point in the future.

If there is something your struggling with from your past, we can approach that issue when you are ready. You do not need to prepare anything as once you are in your safe confidential space you can explore what's on your mind in the here and now.
